Deadline Day!

A flurry of deadline deals last night. Here's a recap of whats happened in the last 2 days:

Deal 1: The Wizards sent Caron Butler, Brendan Haywood and DeShawn Stevenson to the Mavericks for Josh Howard, Drew Gooden, Tim Thomas and Quinton Ross.

Deal 2: Blazers send Steve Blake, Travis Outlaw and cash to Clippers for Marcus Camby.

Deal 3:The New York Knicks trade Darko Milicic to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Brian Cardinal

Deal 4: Kings send Kevin Martin, Sergio Rodridguez, Hilton Armstrong and Kenny Thomas to the Rockets for T-Mac, Joey Dorsey and Carl Landry.

Deal 5: To Cleveland: Antawn Jamison and Sebastian Telfair; To Washingto
n: Zydrunas Ilgauskas, Cleveland's 2010 first-round draft pick, the rights to Emir Preldzic, who was selected in the second round of last year's draft, Al Thornton. To the Clippers: Drew Gooden.

Deal 6: (still being worked out apparently): Chicago send John Salmons to Milwaukee. Initially, sources said that the Bulls would get Kurt Thomas and Francisco Elson, but the Chicago Tribune reported that they could receive those two or Hakim Warrick and Joe Alexander.

Deal 7: (also not yet official): Knicks send Nate Robinson to Boston for Eddie House.

I'm sure a few more are coming down the pipeline before today's 3 p.m. deadline. Will Amare go to the Heat? Will T-Mac be bought out and/or moved to New York? Will the Jazz come to their senses and deal Boozer away before the deadline? Other players rumored to be moved include Kirk Hinrich, Tyrus Thomas, Al Harrington, Troy Murphy, Ray Allen, Andre Iguodala, Samuel Dalembert, Elton Brand, Rip Hamilton and more.

Winners and Losers? Well Dallas is definitely a winner, along with Cleveland. And you gotta love what Houston did. The Clippers, Wizards and Bulls have managed somehow to be able to sign huge free agents now, so I suppose it's a win for them. Not really sure what Sacramento is doing...other than blowing the whole thing up and starting over again with Tyreke Evans.

Anyway, I will try and update this as trades come thru today. Should make for some interesting conversation...

  1. Bulls definitely need to sign a big free agent. I still think they should have drafted LaMarcus Aldridge instead of Tyrus Thomas...

  2. Greg,

Well after today they are definitely set up to do so. The Thomas and Salmons moves make them a player in the huge free agent market this summer.
